Named after the popular phrase, this drawing literally illustrates the connection between heart and home. Meant to depict an inviting atmosphere, the yellow light from inside invites the viewer into the "heart" of the work as it shines from the open door and upstairs window. The remaining negative space encroaches on the simplistic, safe environment of the house.

This piece uses the analogy implied by its title to draw another connection between human physiology and notions of home. Specifically using the connections of family and other interpersonal relationships, implied by a shared living space, to symbolize the care and importance those communities have to each individual. However, not only does the idea of home imply one's relationships, but also the personal items and belongings one collects and uses to fill their living space.
